Source – a survey of land by foot

Exploring the post-industrial landscape of a World Heritage Site in Shropshire; with the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust, the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust, and the Youth Hostel Association. Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust operates ten museums and 25 scheduled outdoor monuments in Coalbrookdale, Ironbridge, Jackfield and Coalport, along a six-mile stretch of the River Severn. Public programmes included working with the Ironbridge Gorge Archaeology Volunteer Group (The Bedlam Transect – photographic brief), and the Ironbridge Walking Festival (cultural destinations).

Stream – ten double-faced folio works showing surface details of Bedlam Furnace, a museum display cabinet containing collected objects (past and present), five photographic images of rocks from the George Maw Geology Collection plus one image of the countryside from Benthall Hall, four wall mounted photographic maps showing details observed in Patten’s Rock Quarry, and a small square of drawings on 25 unglazed tiles. Also, exhibition catalogues containing 41 images litho-printed single-sided in map format displayed folded to the side of a wall-mounted poster version attached with map pins. In addition, three blackboard maps and two large-scale drawing sheets showing notation from staff and public workshops, and a giant mapping display of photographic images showing experimental fieldwork with the volunteer archaeology group. A total of 1,000 publications were produced for this partnership.
